With the hustle and bustle of 9 to 5 lifestyles, it’s easy to get stressed out and even harder to find time to unwind. TrioSpa saw the need for a place for people in San Jose to go to relax and get pampered, so they filled that void.
As a local business, they’re not only looking out for the comfort of our community, but they’re also promoting overall health and well-being.
TrioSpa offers a variety of services that will make you feel invigorated, soothed, and refreshed. If you’re just looking for a place to relax and ease muscle tension, you can try their massage therapy. If you’re looking to get pampered and beautiful, you can choose from their facial peels, waxing, and eyelash extension services.
TrioSpa came to fruition in 2005, when both of the owners decided to drop out of their 9 to 5 jobs and start their own local business. Before opening the spa, Ed and Kathy Cefalu went back to school and earned trade certification in massage and esthetics. Before their change in careers, Ed worked as an advertising account executive, and Kathy was a general manage of Jamba Juice.
In 2006, TrioSpa opened its doors at its original location, in the Barn House at Santa Clara. They lived and operated at this large location until 2009, when they moved to their current location at the Alameda. TrioSpa expanded again in 2012, when they opened a new studio room. Their company has a team of over 50 dedicated studio and mobile massage and skin care practitioners.
Ed Cefalu is an exceptional massage therapist, and he cleverly tapers his massage styles based on his client’s needs. Ed is able to seamlessly flow between Swedish, deep tissue, sports, and Shiatsu/Acupuncture massage styles. Ed makes it his mission to not only relieve stress and tension in his clients, but he also does his best to educate them about healthy practices to take care of themselves.
Co-Owner, Kathy Cefalu is a licensed aesthetician. She received her training at Marinello School of Beauty in Santa Clara. She’s licensed under the state of California and remains an active member of the Associated Skin Care Professionals, ensuring that you get the most up-to-date skincare treatments.
Kathy’s expertise include full body waxes, facial skincare, and back care. Kathy educates her patients on healthy skin care regimens and easy treatments that clients can do at home. This attention to detail shows that Kathy and Ed want their clients to feel healthy and happy outside of their spa, as well.
We’ve heard countless tales from people in the community whose quality of lives were improved by TrioSpa. One patient told us that they suffered from really severe and frequent tension headaches that finally subsided once they went to regular massages at TrioSpa. We’ve also heard of muscle soreness and injuries that were practically cured by the massage services at TrioSpa.
All of the massage therapists are easy to talk to, laid back, and informative throughout your massage, so you can feel as comfortable as possible. They’ll tell you what to expect throughout the process in a relaxed and professional way.
Their services don’t stop at massage either. If you’re there for skin care help or hair removal, Kathy will make you feel comfortable throughout your treatment.
The best part about their aestheticians is that they won’t try to up sell you on products or make you feel obligated to buy stuff that you don’t want. They listen to your skin and hair concerns, then meet your needs as you see fit.
All in all, TrioSpa stands out as an exceptional local business, because they’re customer-oriented and dedicated to our San Jose community.
